Getting there from Stornoway

A
Take the A857 out of the centre of Stornoway, going straight ahead for another 100 yards at the first roundabout onto Macaulay Road.
B
Take a left turn and carry on for 300 yards.
C
Take a left turn onto the A858 and carry straight on up the hill and remain on the main road for about 2 miles (note that it becomes the A859 after three quarters of a mile).
D
As the road descends it approaches a bridge over the River Creed.
E
Access and parking is available on your right hand side just before the bridge.

Getting there from Tarbert

A
Turn right onto the A859 from the centre of Tarbert on the Isle of Harris and carry on straight along this road for 32 miles.
B
As you pass a small electricity substation on your left, the road descends to a bridge and the River Creed should be in full view to your left.
C
Access and parking is available on your left hand side just after you cross the bridge.

Getting to the Lochs

A
Head out of Stornoway on the A858 for about three quarters of a mile.
B
Take the right turn at the top of the hill to remain on the A858 (easily missed).
C
After 100 yards, take the next left turn after Lavas garage (sign-posted Carlabhagh and Breascleit). Follow the road for about 3 miles to its first junction (just past the three large wind turbines).

Turn left on the A858 to Achmore.

After a mile, the gate and track for access to Loch a Chlachain is on your left. Some parking is available near the gate and at the boat house beside the Loch (mainly reserved for disabled).
F
Parking for Loch an Ois is about 350 yards further along the road to Achmore from the Chlachain parking space. Just after the bridge over the Creed past Chlachain, there is a gate and track to Ois on the right hand side of the road and, a few yards further on, an area that can be used for parking.
