This is a small loch further along the Achmore road from Bhuna and on the opposite side of the road (just past the Loch with fish cages on). It is regarded as one of the "dourer" lochs in the area with early mornings and late evenings providing the best chance of sport, especially along the northern shore which seems to hold the larger fish. So if you fancy a challenge this could be the loch that yields a fish in the 2 - 3lb class.
Getting to the Loch from Stornoway
Head out of Stornoway on the A858 for about three quarters of a mile.
Take the right turn at the top of the hill to remain on the A858 (easily missed).
After 100 yards, take the next left turn after Lavas garage (sign-posted Carlabhagh and Breascleit). Follow the road for about 3 miles to its first junction (just past the three large wind turbines).
Turn left on the A858 to Achmore.
After 3 miles, park in the passing place on the right hand side next to the loch.
