This is essentially an early loch, only fishing well from March to June. Trout over 2lb have been taken in the past when the average brown trout was around the 10oz mark. Bright flies seem to work best. Take the A859 Stornoway/Tarbert road for about a mile, look for the junction at Marybank then take the A858 Stornoway/Achmore road for three miles. The loch is just past the three large wind turbines and is inside the fork in the road.

Getting to the Loch from Stornoway

Head out of Stornoway on the A858 for about three quarters of a mile.
Take the right turn at the top of the hill to remain on the A858 (easily missed).
After 100 yards, take the next left turn after Lavas garage (sign-posted Carlabhagh and Breascleit). Follow the road for about 3 miles to its first junction (just past the three large wind turbines).
Carry on past the junction on the Carloway, Breasclete Pentland road for about 350 yards and park in the first passing place on the left.
