Membership Benefits

SAA members have bank fishing on the Association’s 12 trout lochs and free use of the Association’s 4 trout loch boats located on lochs close to Stornoway. SAA members can also purchase low cost season tickets (£20-£65) to fish the River Creed salmon and sea trout fishery. Junior SAA members may fish the River Creed for free if accompanied by an adult River Creed permit holder.

SAA membership provides a number of additional benefits. Local, but not visiting, SAA members have access to discounted salmon and sea trout fishing on several estates (Borve, Garynahine and Grimersta) and all SAA members obtain free entry into the Association’s seven annual competitions held on first class fisheries throughout the Islands (free transport by mini-bus provided for most competitions).

SAA membership also provides access to exchange fishing with the North and South Uist angling clubs (local members only) and SAA membership should make it easier to obtain trout and other fishing from the various estates within Lewis and Harris.

The SAA also has excellent trout and salmon fishing on Loch Langavat courtesy of the Uig and Hamnavay Estate. SAA members can use the Association’s 2 large 15 foot boats with outboard engines and may use our comfortable boat/bunk house for overnight stays (additional charge of £20-£40 per day per boat of 3 anglers).
