Club Membership

Full membership is open to all residents of the islands of Lewis & Harris. Associate memberships are open to all resident elsewhere. Membership subscriptions are decided at Annual General Meetings held in March.  Memberships can be taken out at any time during the season and all are due for renewal as of the 15th March in the following year.

Membership Categories

• Youth – all aged under 18 as of January 1st in year of membership
• Adult – all aged 18 or over as of January 1st unless eligible for either
• Concessionary – all members aged 65 or older or any member receiving unemployment/disability benefits
• Student – all over 18 and in full time education with no upper age limit.

Membership shall be at the discretion of the Committee

Membership Benefits

SAA members have access to bank fishing on the Association’s 12 trout lochs and free use of the Association’s 4 trout loch boats located on lochs close to Stornoway. SAA members can also purchase low cost season tickets to fish the River Creed salmon and sea trout fishery. Youth SAA members may fish the River Creed for free if accompanied by an adult River Creed permit holder.

SAA membership provides a number of additional benefits. Local, but not visiting, SAA members have access to discounted salmon and sea trout fishing on several estates (details usually provided with membership payment) and all SAA members obtain free entry into the Association’s various annual competitions.

SAA membership also provides access to exchange fishing with the North and South Uist angling clubs (local members only). Any other current exchange arrangements will be updated annually.
