Description

Size/Area 76 Acres (31 Hectares)

The trout average around the 6oz mark with fish up to 1lb occasionally being caught. The West and South shores usually fish best, with bright flies (silver goats toe especially) being particularly successful.

Head out of Stornoway on the A858 for about three quarters of a mile.

Take the right turn at the top of the hill to remain on the A858 (easily missed).

After 100 yards, take the next left turn after Lavas garage (sign-posted Carlabhagh and Breascleit). Follow the road for about 3 miles to its first junction (just past the three large wind turbines).

Turn left on the A858 to Achmore.

After 2.5 miles, park in the passing place on the left next to an old fence fank.
